One to protect the lens and with film the filters improved the image quality.Well afer resisting for years I finally took the DLSR plunge and did not realize what a conterversay existed in the digital world regarding UV. Some defend the use for the protection and some decry UV filters saying digital is compensated for UV and totally un-necessary. There is even a further school of thought in the pro UV world on the filter. Multi-coated or not, in-expensive or top dollar with opinions ranging from price does not matter to the higher the better. Fast delivery and in great condition. fits well and tight, can add other filters on easily. I compared with my friend's HOYA HMC UV(0) and couldn't find the difference from the pictures taken. at this price, it's no doubt a great buy.
